Arkaba Hotel officially opens after $12 million transformation
After a comprehensive $12M renovation, the Arkaba Hotel proudly announces the completion of the transformation, marking the venue’s full re-opening for the first time in 12 months.
Established in 1966, Peter and Jenny Hurley acquired the Arkaba Hotel over 30 years ago, in 1991. The Adelaide icon is now completely revitalised after its first major renovation in 60 years, with the Hurley Hotel Group bringing a contemporary look and feel to the popular hotel.
Commencing the renovation one year ago, the hotel unveiled the new Lounge, Restaurant, and refurbished Top of the Ark back in August last year. Most recently, the new look “Sportys” has been unveiled, dedicated to sports and entertainment, and features an innovative 360-degree wraparound LED screen, known as the ‘The Funnel’, with the capacity to show up to six different events simultaneously and is the first of its kind in Australia.
With the renovation complete, the hotel now also boasts an updated hotel reception area as well as additional function spaces which have been extensively renovated and equipped with state-of-the-art technology for both corporate and social events.

“We really want to be a venue for all occasions, a place where people come together to enjoy live music, sport, food, and drinks. We can now see that for generations to come in our revitalised spaces,” Jenny continued.
The hotel now employs over 120 staff, facilitating new jobs for the community.
The Hurley Hotel Group is a family-owned business that has been operating in South Australia for over 40 years. Along with the Arkaba Hotel, they also currently operate the Kensington Hotel, Marion Hotel, Port Lincoln Hotel, Pretoria Hotel, Hotel Royal, Tonsorama, Torrens Arms Hotel, Ivory Waterside, and the new Panorama Hotel which is currently in construction.
The Arkaba Hotel is located at 150 Glen Osmond Rd, Fullarton and is open seven days a week. From 7am until late.
